How to check your text

- Review the Human Score and sentence estimates alongside the original writing and its context.
Understanding the Human Score
Winston returns a score from 0 to 100. Lower scores suggest AI writing, while higher scores suggest human writing. The score is an estimate about the text and does not measure what percentage of its words were written by AI.
A detector can make mistakes. Short passages, edited writing and mixed authorship may be difficult to assess. Sentence scores have less context than the whole passage. Use the report to guide a review rather than establish who wrote a document.
This tool checks for patterns associated with AI writing. It does not compare your text against published sources or produce a plagiarism report. See Winston’s API documentation for score definitions and supported languages.

Is this AI detector free?
You get three successful scans per browser, with up to 1,000 words and 12,000 characters per scan. Failed scans do not use the allowance. Daily shared capacity may also limit availability.
Can it prove that someone used ChatGPT?
No. Winston provides an estimate about writing patterns. It cannot prove authorship or identify which tool someone used.
Why is there a minimum length?
Short text gives a detector less evidence. This page requires 600 characters because Winston advises that shorter passages may give unreliable results.
Where does my text go?
The server sends your text to Winston AI. This page keeps your text and result in browser memory, and the server may cache the result for up to five minutes to avoid duplicate scans. Provider retention policies apply.
Can I upload a PDF?
This version accepts pasted text. Copy the relevant passage from your document and review it before scanning.
Will signing up add more scans here?
Signup opens the separate AnswerThis app. It does not transfer your text or add scans to this public page.
